Stephen White Assistant Professor

Stephen White (Ph.D., UCLA, 2012) works primarily in ethics and political philosophy. He is interested in issues concerning partiality and impartiality, the morality of personal relationships, and how the sphere of public morality differs from private or personal morality. He is also working on various questions related to the topic of responsibility, including questions about the ways in which an individual may be expected to take responsibility for certain aspects of his or her life and well being; how ideas about what one is responsible for enter into one's practical reasoning; as well as what kinds of factors mitigate responsibility for wrongdoing and why.
